911 director introduced to advisory board

Incoming county 911 Director James Falls introduced himself to the 911 Advisory Board Monday, with board chair Jerry Harrison (Lebanon Police Chief) framing the meeting as an opportunity for him and the board to ask questions of one another. Falls’ first day is January 20. Falls highlighted his military experience with the Air Force and Army. Before coming to Lebanon, Falls most recently managed a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in Fort Leavenworth, KS. Falls’s self-described philosophy is customer-service based. “I ask my teams to never say, ‘the work’s not my job,’ especially when we’re doing law enforcement-type work, because the people who are asking us for help don’t usually have the ability to go someplace else,” Falls said. Harrison explained that the board is meant to advise the department and county commission in matters of policy and budget, leaving the day-to-day operations to Falls.
