1SG (Ret.) Charles Everett Vess Sr., 78, of Waynesville, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2021, in Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
He is survived by his wife Anita Vess; his four children Deborah Brown (Larry) of Buckhorn; Mark Vess (Janice) of Lebanon; Janet Kubisiak (Gary) of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Zern Vess II (Danielle) of Nixa; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, in Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date, under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
