Stephen Nichols, 79, of Richland, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in Buffalo.

He was born March 17, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo. to Cleo Fletcher and Velma Ruth Creviston Nichols.

On April 4, 1982, he married Doris “Dottie’’ Wilkens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Doris Nichols and one brother, Lester A. Nichols.

Stephen attended school in Raytown. He entered the United States Army and served our country proudly until he was honorably discharged. Stephen retired after 25 years with Roadway Trucking Company. He owned and operated a bail bonding service in Lebanon for several years. He was a member of Lebanon IOOF Lodge No. 192, Lebanon Masonic Lodge and was a member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, and flew children to Shriners Hospital for medical treatment.

He is survived by four sons, Stephen Nichols (Shannon) of Niangua; Brett Nichols (Stacey) of the state of Florida, Roger and Randy Ogle of Richland; three daughters, Tracey Lenac (John) of Los Angeles, Calif.; Rita Tinsley (H.R.) of Richland, and Rhonda Rairden (Jim) of Lebanon; two brothers, Roger W. Nichols (Sue) of Raytown, and Ralph Dean Nichols of Augusta, Kan.; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a special friend, Margaret Jones of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service and burial for Stephen Nichols will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020, at Lebanon Cemetery with military honors by the United States Army, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
