New police chief begins tenure in Lebanon

Jerry Harrison took the oath of office as the new Lebanon new Chief of Police Monday morning. The swearing-in took place in the conference room behind the City Council Chambers with members of other law enforcement agencies and city officials looking on. According to the city’s statement on his appointment, Harrison has 26 years of law enforcement experience, including tenure as Police Chief of the Independence (Kansas) Police Department as well as serving in the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police Board of Directors and the Kansas 911 Coalition.
