MARY A. PARSONS

Mary A.Parsons, 85, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born March 12, 1934, in Laclede County, Mo. to Freeman Levi and Ida Bell Berry Jennings.

On Nov. 3, 1951, she married Rev. Laverl “Lyall’’ Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rev. Lyall, on July 15, 2006; two sons, Tim and Matthew Parsons; a brother, Billy G. Jennings, and a sister, Leota Napper.

Mary was born and raised in Laclede County and attended Lebanon R-III Schools. She then worked at the Rice-Stix Factory for a time. Once she and Lyall were married, they made their home in various locations where Lyall was serving as pastor in the Bootheel area, Crocker, St. Clair, and in Lebanon. Through those years, Mary was a devoted homemaker and a supportive minister’s wife. Later, she worked as a greeter at Walmart for a few years.

She was a member of First Assembly of God and had attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Donita Reid of Willard; nieces, Joy Smith and her husband Paul of Willard; Becky Lockhart and her husband Gary of Springfield; Teresa Hickle of Springfield; Marsha Harvey and her husband Jerry of Excelsior Springs, and Julia Rose and her husband Sam of Kansas City; nephews, Roger Napper and his wife Mary Beth of Lebanon, and Phillip Jennings and his wife Jenice of St. Joseph; a sister-in-law, Roena Jennings of Kansas City; several other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Mary A. Parsons will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2020, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.
