Local restaurant makes hand sanitizer with distillery

Posted
A local restaurant is helping provide a needed hygiene item during the novel coronavirus pandemic. Tina Fears-Akers, owner of T’s Redneck Steakhouse, said they were given permission to use their moonshine distillery to make hand sanitizer. They are making the product available at no charge, one per customer, while supplies last. She thanked Joe’s Pharmacy and Jeff Knight for providing bottles. “Our biggest problem was finding bottles to put it in so Joe’s Pharmacy here in town stepped up and gave me bottle. Our State Rep., Jeff Knight also got us more bottles,” Fears-Akers said. “It doesn’t do you any good to make it if you can’t get it out there.” For more on this story see Wednesday's issue of the LCR.
