The Lebanon High School boys’ soccer team is on a two-game win streak after defeating the Osage Indians last week and Bolivar Liberators on Tuesday night at ‘Jacket Soccer Field.

Lebanon defeated the Indians in double overtime last Thursday night. Junior Zach Richards scored the game-winning goal just minutes after senior goalkeeper Zach Jamieson kept the game alive with a brilliant save to maintain a tie game.

“We lost 4-1 to them (Osage) earlier this year in our tournament,” Lebanon head coach Matt Jernigan said. “It didn’t represent us, so we kind of circle that one on our calendar and we played well. We got down 2-1, and were able to score late.

“Zach Jamieson made a great save by diving off his line and stole it off a players foot, and then Zach Richards got away and did what he does, so it was a good win for us.”

On Tuesday, Lebanon faced a talented Bolivar team and was able to get up early with another goal from Richards just four minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead on a nice pass from Luis Vasquez.

“That assist to Zach early in the game to get away from pressure and split defenders from Luis was great,” Jernigan mentioned. “I thought our midfield has been stepping up the past few games and I think that’s why we have been able to hang with such good teams.”

Late in the first half, the Liberators committed a foul inside the goalie box, and senior Ethan Murray finished a PK to go up 2-0.
