LHS girls’ wrestling wins Ozark Conference championship

The Lebanon High School girls' wrestling team took first-place in the first Ozark Conference tournament held on Thursday at Waynesville High School.


The Lebanon High School girls’ wrestling team made history on Thursday afternoon by winning the inaugural Ozark Conference girls’ wrestling tournament at Waynesville High School.

Throughout the first season in program history, the ‘Jackets have accomplished plenty and currently are ranked No. 1 in the state with seven different wrestlers ranked.

Below are the results from Thursday’s tournament:

1st place: Emily Young (110), Ashlynn Leochner (116), Kaylyn Rogers (126), Quincey Glendenning (131), Dream Cunningham (136), Talora Frisbee (167), Carolyn Sterner.

2nd place: McKenzie Gormley, Rae White, Darby Neely, Bailey Shockley.

3rd place: Amy Anderson.

On Tuesday, the Lebanon girls’ wrestling team took first-place at the Osage tournament.

First-place winners included Emily Young (106), Rae White (121) and Dream Cunningham (136).
Second-place finishers were Ashlynn Leochner (116), Amy Anderson (143), Darby Neely (152), Talora Frisbee (167), and Bailey Shockley (187).

The girls’ wreslting team will next wreslte on Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2 at Nixa High School at districts to determine who will wrestle at the state tournament.

The state tournament will take place on Thursday, February 14 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
