The Lebanon High School varsity and junior varsity wrestling teams made a statement to the rest of the Ozark Conference on Thursday by winning the Ozark Conference tournament championship at the Cowan Civic Center.

Between the varsity and JV, Lebanon won 18 individual titles (11 JV, seven varsity) with the varsity sending 13 wrestlers to the championship round.

“It nice to bring the title back to Lebanon. Waynesville has had the trophy I think eight out of the last nine years. Hopefully we can keep the trophy for a while. Hopefully this tournament will carry over in the district tournament,” Lebanon head coach Randy Roark said.

Roark was awarded the Ozark Conference Coach of the Year award while Lebanon junior Trevor Christian was named Ozark Conference Wrestler of the Year.

“It is a big honor. There are a lot of guys that could’ve got that award, so it meant a lot and I beat a really good guy in the finals and it all feels good right now,” Christian said after the tournament.

Champions for the Lebanon varsity wrestlers were Cole Patten (113), Reagan Mowery (138), Trevor Christian (152), Jayden Ivey (170), Jake Henson (182), Landen Smith (195), and Race Cottongim (285).

The varsity ‘Jackets finished with a team score of 261.5 with Rolla coming in second-place with a score of 195.0, Camdenton in third with 98 points, and Waynesville took fourth with 96.5 points.

The junior varsity ‘Jackets finished their season with a record 19-0 this winter and finished with a team score of 245. Finishing in second was Glendale with 106 team points and Rolla took third with 80 points.
