Before Wednesday’s non-conference matchup with the Nixa Eagles, the Lebanon High School wrestling team honored 11 seniors at Dr. Tom Luthy Fieldhouse

The 2018-19 seniors include Jon Berry, Race Cottongim, Hogan Fisher, Duncan Gillenwater, Ty Glendenning, Jayden Ivey, Talor Kaffenberger, Hunter Lewis, Reagan Mowery, Austin Mulitalo and Connor Thom.

On the mat, it was all Lebanon as the ‘Jackets defeated the Eagles handily, 65-14.

Nixa got off to a fast start as Peyton Moore (106) pinned Lebanon’s Andrew Dent to take a 6-0 lead followed by an 18-5 win for Deagan Fuggitt (113) over Cole Patten to go up 10-0 in the match.

At 120-pounds Lebanon’s Bo Rosen had the match of the night, pinning Cole Crahan late in the third round to secure a win after a back-and-forth affair between the two wrestlers. After Rosen’s win, the ‘Jackets went on to win three straight matches with Hunter Lewis (126), Cole Roark (132) and Reagan Mowery (138) all winning handily to give Lebanon a 24-10 lead.

Junior Trevor Christian, ranked No. 1 in Class 3 at 152-pounds, won via tech fall over Nixa’s Dylan Rust, 16-1.

Colt Adkins (160), Jayden Ivey (170), Jon Berry (220), and Race Cottongim (285) all won via pins to help secure the win for LHS.

Jake Henson (182) and Landen Smith (195) both had open matches.

“It’s always nice to get a victory,” Lebanon head coach Randy Roark said. “We started out slow, but we finished strong.

“That’s a good win though, and I will take anything we can get.”

Before the match, Roark and Christian were presented with 100-win plaques which both achievied earlier this season.

The JV defeated the Eagles, 72-27. Winners included Austin Johnson, Cael Schmitz, Terrell Mebruer, Connor Brand, Connor Thom, Austin Mulitalo, Taylor Kaffenberger, Ethan Brand, Hayden Dearborn, Elijah Arl, Colt Heisz, Ben Terry and Kael Ruble.
