Lebanon golf team beats Waynesville

The Lebanon High School boys’ golf team got their season underway this week playing three matches against Waynesville and two against Rolla.

In the nine-hole match against the Tigers on Monday at Great Life Golf Course in Lebanon, the ‘Jackets dominated, outshooting Waynesville 166-234 to win by 68 strokes.

En route to their blowout victory, senior Tryn Titus led all golfers with a low score of 36. Senior Cooper Hess shot a 37 while freshman Mason Bowman posted a 45 in his first varsity outing. Houston Brackett shot a 48 with Grant Carr following him with a total of 50.

“Tryn (Titus) and Cooper (Hess) both played solid for the first match of the year,” Lebanon head coach Zach Hines mentioned. “Houston (Brackett) and Grant (Carr) didn’t play their best, but they stayed with it and finished strong.

“I really thought Mason (Bowman) played well for his first high school match, and was able to get all the nerves out early and played a nice round (on Monday).”

JV scores were Austin Walters 52, Grayson Anthony 54, Rylan Ellis 55, and Ry Evans 57. 

On Tuesday, the ‘Jackets squared-off against Rolla at Great Life in a nine-hole match, falling to the Bulldogs in match play, 175-166.

Hess shot the low score for LHS on Tuesday with a 38 with Titus following him up with a 40. Bowman scored a 48 with Carr shooting a 49. Brackett rounded out the team with a 52.

JV scores were Ry Evans 50, Grayson Anthony 52, Austin Walters 55, Kasen King 59 and Logan Woodward 63.
