Janet C. (McBride) Keller, 76, of St. Louis, formerly of Lebanon, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2019.
She was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Lebanon, Mo. to Winifred Coleman and Tom McBride, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a son, Mark.
Janet attended Lebanon High School and graduated in the Class of 1960. She attended Southwest Missouri State and was a founding member of the tent theater group. She moved to St. Louis in 1964 and quickly found work as a singer. She sang at Vanity Fair, The Cellar and Smokey Joe’s in the evening and took the street car to her day job as a secretary. Janet built a successful business called Keller and Associates Public Relations. She also was a regular contributor to St. Louis Magazine, writing about historic homes and neighborhoods.
Survivors include her children, Andy, Laura, Danny (Amy); four grandchildren, Anna, Celia, Josie and Aiden; a brother, Tom McBride Jr., of Lebanon, and many other relatives.
Services for Janet C. (McBride) Keller will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, at Kutis Funeral Home Inc., St. Louis City Chapel. Visitation will be 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later in Calvary Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorials have been established to de Greeff Hospice House.
