Gary Robert McClellan, 78, of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 20, 2019, in Lebanon.
He was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Topeka, Kan. to Robert Henry and Mary Irene Brooks McClellan.
On March 24, 1993, he married Linda Chatham.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Gary was an ordained Orthodox Priest.
After graduation from Junction City High School in Kansas, Gary became a member of a Calvary Squad in the Philippines and later entered the United States Air Force Special Forces, where he served until his retirement. He was also a police officer and deputy sheriff in several states and became a member of the Royal Colonial Light Horse Brigade. Gary loved music and was a talented Blues Dobro player as well as a ferrier in the state of Florida.
He is survived by his wife Linda; one son, Andrew McClellan, of Fort Myers, Fla.; one daughter, Allene Miller, of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Josiah, Moriah and Rebekah Miller; a cousin, Dr. William Brooks, of Overland Park, Kan.
A Commital Service for Gary Robert McClellan will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at the Fort Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
