Donald Gardner, 86, of Grovespring, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, in Grovespring.
He was born March 24, 1932, in Redondo Beach, Calif. to William Thomas and Thetta Ann Stanley Gardner.
On July 23, 1994, he married Faye Deloris Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Ernest Gardner, and step-grandson, Zach Franklin.
Donald served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a minister of Church of Christ for several years. He worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis for 13 years. He also got certified through Vatterott College in heating and air.
He is survived by his wife Faye; one son, Steven Gardner, of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Patty Henson and her husband Jim, of Smithboro, Ill.; one stepson, Steve Long and his wife Suzie, of Bethany, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Franklin and her husband Steve, of Long Lane, and Denise Martin and her husband Darin, of Ozark; one brother, Bill Gardner and his wife Dorothy, of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Valerie Trim and her husband Sam, Jake Long and his wife Amanda, Mark Long, Stephen Long II and his wife Laure, Justin Franklin and his wife Ashlee, and Blake Martin and his wife Jordyn; nine great-grandchildren, Ryen, Brady, Jude, Graham, Stephen III, Zachary, Sophie, Andres and Emma; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Donald Gardner will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Jerry Ward and Charles Murray officiating. Burial will be in Shaddy Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
