DARRELL DEPUTY JR.

Well-known Lebanon attorney Darrell Deputy Jr., 77, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, in Lebanon.
He was born May 26, 1942, in Lebanon, Mo. to Darrell Deputy Sr. and Hazel Hayes Deputy.
In the summer of 1965 he married Yolanda Kay Davis and they shared over 54 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death his father, Darrell Deputy Sr.; his twin sister, Sherry Deputy Albaugh; his paternal grandparents, Louis and Dora Deputy; and his maternal grandparents, Harold and Grace Hayes.
Darrell grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1960. He then continued his education at Drury University in Springfield, graduating with honors in the spring of 1964. Up graduation, he received a full fellowship to Washington University Law School in St. Louis, and graduated with honors in the spring of 1967. After graduation from law school, he was awarded an additional fellowship and continued his law studies at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Darrell joined the Missouri Bar Association in the fall of 1967. He served in the United States army and was stationed in Baltimore, Md., St. Louis, and finally at Fort Leonard Wood. After his honorable discharge, he established a law practice on Commercial Street in Lebanon, and also served as Laclede County Prosecuting Attorney from 1971-1976. Later he moved his office to 2nd Street in the late 1970s and stayed at that location until moving across the street in the early 2000s.
As a young boy, he joined the First Baptist Church of Lebanon.
He is survived by his wife Yolanda, of the home; his son, Scott, of California; his daughter, Debra and her husband Sean McGruder, of Lebanon; his brother, David Deputy, of Branson; his mother, Hazel Deputy, of Lebanon; and his grandchildren, Olivia McGruder and Conor McGruder, of Lebanon.
A private family funeral for Darrell Deputy Jr. will be held at a later date. Family and friends may visit Shadel’s Colonial Chapel for viewing of photos and sharing of memories.
In lieu of flowers, Darrell’s family is requesting donations to the Darrell Deputy Memorial at First State Community Bank or the Lebanon Class of 1960 at Lebanon Area Foundation.
