Bonnie R. Cooper

Bonnie R. Cooper, 81, of Springfield, formerly of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

She was born April 30, 1935, in Dawson, Mo. to Earnest and Gladys S. Rogers Weatherly.
On July 7, 1955, she married Thomas Clark Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom, on June 16, 2005; a daughter, Rita Dowdy; six brothers, John, Jim, Earnest, Russell, Tommy, and Mack Weatherly, and a sister, Agnes Todd.

Bonnie was raised in Wright and Laclede counties, and then lived in Kansas City, Mo. for  many years. She then lived in Springfield and in Lebanon, making her home in Springfield for the last several years. Throughout the years, Bonnie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and a loving mother to her daughter. She had worked for the Rice Stix Factory early in her life.

She had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Sanderson, of Springfield, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bonnie R. Cooper will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in the Chapel Mausoleum in Mount Rose Memorial Park with the Rev. Matt Taylor officiating, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.

Friends may call at their convenience in the funeral home.
