officers seize 5 pounds of meth

Local law officers made one of the largest meth seizures in recent memory in Laclede County Saturday.
The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Team, Laclede County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department and Missouri Highway Patrol officers seized five pounds of crystal methamphetamine and more than $10,000 in cash from a business  at 20488 Eastgate Road in Laclede County, according to a news release from Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap.
A search warrant served Saturday afternoon also led to the seizure of eight handguns, and a quarter pound of marijuana in addition to the methamphetamine. A Lebanon man and a suspect from Springfield were arrested, Millsap said.
He said the estimated street value of the methamphetamine is $250,000.
“This is the largest single methamphetamine seizure we have had in Laclede County in recent history,” said Millsap.
Investigators are now working with federal authorities on this case.
