Lebanon residents had the opportunity to celebrate Veterans Day on Saturday by attending a Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1407.

Following the posting of the colors, the event began with a video about the history of the “The Star-Spangled Banner,” followed by a performance of the the national anthem itself by the band Walenia, and state Sen. Sandy Crawford was the guest speaker for the event.

“Every time America has been called to fight for what is right, there have always been men and women there to answer that call,” Crawford told veterans. “America has a history of fighting to win, to protect our country. In fact, our country wouldn’t even be possible if it weren’t for people like you, people willing to fight for the values and ideals that they believed in.”
