Lebanon resident Nora Blackburn, 77, lost her life in a Sunday morning fire.
Lebanon Fire Chief Sam Schneider said his department was dispatched to her home at Harwood Avenue and Pearl Street at 6:23 a.m. with a report that there was possibly a victim inside.
On arrival they discovered heavy exterior smoke emanating from the home.
They combatted heavy flames as they attacked the fire. Lebanon Rural Fire was also called in for aid.
“At one point, we were forced out of the building because of the volume of fire,” Schneider said.
After using their high volume master streams to knock down the fire, they reentered the building.
“Unfortunately, we did find a deceased victim in the home,” Schneider said.
