Former mayor Lyle Anderson dies at age 80

Former Lebanon mayor and community leader Lyle D. Anderson died Thursday. He was 80.
Anderson served as mayor from April 30, 2012 to April 24, 2016.
He was born May 25, 1938, and attended high school in Nyssa, Ore.
Anderson married the former Gail Splan, of Bennett Spring.
Anderson was a retired American Family Insurance agent and adjuster. He and his wife moved to Lebanon in 1971.
He was a 48-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, where he was active in all phases of church work, including the Sunday School program, the Sonshine Sunday School class, and served as an usher and office receptionist.
