The Lebanon Route 66 Festival will be held again on Father’s Day weekend next year.

The Lebanon-Laclede County Route 66 Society board voted unanimously Tuesday to schedule the festival for June 14-15, 2019.

It will be Lebanon’s 12th Route 66 Festival and the third year that Saturday events will be held at Boswell Park in partnership with the Lebanon Parks and Recreation Department.

“I thought the festival went very well,” John Shelton, city parks director, told the board. “We’re glad to partner with you on that and look forward to doing that in the future.”

Loretta Young, chairman of the festival committee, said the festival might expand into Saturday evening next year, possibly with a Miss Route 66 Pageant, which was held in the festival’s early years. “We could have a whole second crowd,” she said.

If the festival is to continue to grow, Young said, it will need more volunteers beyond the Route 66 Society members.
