Many people remember to donate to needy children at Christmastime, but one local woman is working to make sure that the older generation is not forgotten.

Tashina Dozier is collecting fuzzy blankets and men’s and women’s house shoes in various sizes for distribution to senior citizens in care facilities.

Dozier explained that the drive is in honor of her grandmother, Laura Mae Bagley, who died on Christmas Day 2014.

“I know that if she would have ever been in the mind capacity to do it, she would have done the same thing,” Dozier stated. “She used to do a lot of charity stuff and was involved in things.”
