By Kelly Morgan The Daily Record

The Laclede County Health Department board passed the salary portion of its Fiscal Year 2015 budget Thursday night, voting to approve a 2 percent Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) increase for its employees.

In 2014, the board approved $515,000 in expenditures for employee salaries. For the 2015 budget, board members had a choice of keeping employee salaries the same with only regular step increases, which would result in an expenditure of $546,000, or approving a 2 percent COLA increase, which would result in a $557,000 expenditure.
